Privacy Policy

The short version: your work lives in your own account, isolated to you on a secure backend (row-level security) so only you can read it, and synced across the devices you sign in on. We never sell your data and never run third-party ad tracking.

UACC (the University Applicant Command Centre) is built to help you organize your university applications. We've designed it so that your information stays with you. This policy explains exactly what that means in practice.

What we store

When you use UACC, the app keeps track of the things you enter so it can show them back to you across sessions:

  • Your profile, grades, averages, extracurriculars, and awards.
  • The universities and programs you've added to your list.
  • Your tasks, requirement checklists, and application deadlines.
  • Essays, notes, and any custom calendar events you create.

That's it. We don't ask for anything we don't need to run the app. You sign in with your email, which we use to save and sync your own data and carry your purchase across devices. We never see or store your card details, payment is handled entirely by our payment provider (see “Payment & the services we rely on” below).

Where it's stored

Your data is stored in your account on a secure per-user backend, protected by row-level security so only you can read your own rows. It syncs across the devices you sign in on. A lightweight copy is cached in your browser so the app stays fast; signing out clears that local copy.

Because your data lives in your account, it follows you to any device you sign in on. Signing out clears the cached copy from that device, and deleting your account removes your data from our backend.

What we don't do

  • We don't sell or rent your personal data, or share it with anyone except the trusted providers that run the app for us (listed below).
  • We don't run third-party advertising or ad-tracking pixels.
  • We don't build an advertising profile of you or your search history.
  • We store only your own data, isolated per user with row-level security so no other user, and no third party, can read it.

Your control

The data is yours, so you stay in full control of it. You can export your data or delete it at any time from Settings. Deleting it in Settings removes it from your devices and from our backend for good.

Payment & the services we rely on

To run UACC we use a small number of trusted providers, and we share only what each one needs to do its job:

  • Payments. When you start a trial or buy full access, checkout is handled by Stripe. They process your card and email you a receipt. We never receive or store your card number, we only learn that your access is valid. Stripe's handling of your payment data is governed by its own privacy policy.
  • Hosting. The app is served by our hosting provider, which processes standard request logs (such as IP address and browser type) to deliver and protect the site.
  • Account & sync. UACC uses an account to save your work, so your email and app data are stored with our backend provider on a secure, per-user basis (row-level security), used only to sign you in and sync your own data.
  • Product analytics. We use a privacy-focused analytics service (PostHog) to understand how the site is used, such as which pages are viewed and which buttons are clicked, so we can improve UACC. This is never used for advertising, and it respects your browser's Do Not Track setting.

These providers act on our behalf. We don't share your data with anyone else except where the law requires it.

Children & minors

UACC is built for people applying to university, and many users are in high school. UACC is not intended for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you are between 13 and the age of majority where you live, please use UACC with the involvement and consent of a parent or guardian, and any purchase should be made by, or with the permission of, that parent or guardian. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal information, email us and we'll delete it.

Keeping & deleting your data

We keep your data only for as long as you use UACC. Your account data is kept until you delete it or ask us to. You can export or erase everything from Settings; the hard reset also removes your synced cloud copy. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, or to object to certain processing; email us and we'll honour your request.

Changes to this policy

Your data is stored privately in your own account and synced across your devices; signing out clears the synced copy from that device. When we make material changes to this policy, we'll revise the “last updated” date at the top of this page.
